One Year Anniversary Calligraphy Fun Event 1周年記念は書初め

To mark the one year anniversary of Asagao Japanese, I hosted a free New Year Fun Calligraphy event (online)!

January 2nd is considered to be the day to write Kakizome-a special calligraphy for the New Year. 

After learning the New Year greeting phrases, we learned zodiac animals. 

2021 is the year of Ox, so we had fun writing “Ushi - うし”.

Then we moved onto learning about the New Year Food. 

Each food has puns and meaning behind it. 
We learn and wrote “mochi - もち”.

The motto was to be free and fun.

My student found a purple paint on the shelf that was passed down in the family.

干支の講義の後は「うし」と書く。

そして後半はお正月の食べ物講義。
一つ一つ意味を確認しながら「もち」と書く。

とにかく自由に楽しく！

途中生徒さんはお母様が残された絵の具の棚に紫色を見つけ、３０年ぶりに使用されたり。

「うし」に素敵な色が入り、今年の記念になりましたね！
