The Summer's Last 夏の最後
On the last day of summer before the fall equinox, we visited our favorite Capitola beach since school was out. Though the Northern California ocean water is chilly throughout the year. Wearing a wetsuit will save me from misery. Today was no exception: I floated about an hour with my wetsuit and boots until my hands got numb.
I felt the sparking of the quiet water deep green and sky blue merging together.
I felt the big waves as I jump over them and enjoy the view on its back. I sent the sent cheer as young surfers tried to catch these waves. The seabirds suddenly dove into the ocean. I enjoyed waiting if the bird caught fish as he came up. The pelicans glided right above the surface and I heard his wings.
We usually go to Capitola beach, along Monterey Bay about an hour away. they have public shower and restrooms, parking and restaurants/cafes near by. Everything is compact and very convenient.
I left my phone at home so these pictures are from the last year.
I will get gloves next time to stay in the water longer.
