We also celebrated setsubun in kids Japanese class at the dōjō.
We have a middle schooler who doesn’t eat any seafood, and I wasn’t sure of the allergies for all of my students, so I made cucumber rolls to eat together, facing the lucky direction.
We had Mr. D back from long trip, and a new student joined the class, too. When we were singing the Setsubun song, “let’s wear oni’s pants”, Ms. R saying “I surely don’t want to wear it ever!” really cracked me up. Oh how I love these children!
今週は節分三昧。
道場での子供クラスでも恵方巻きを用意してみんなで食べました。「シーフードは食べない」という中学生の生徒さんもいるし、アレルギーなどもわからなかったので、無難なきゅうり巻きを準備。この日はずっと旅行で出席できなかったDくんも戻ってきたし、新しい生徒さんも加わってみんなでわいわい楽しく過ごしました。「鬼のパンツ」の歌を歌いながら「履きたくないし！」とツッコミを入れるRちゃん。子供達といると楽しいです。
