New Year Food おせち
We can’t talk about New Year without talking about New Year food.
I’ve purchased a few ingredients to make mini-traditional Japanese New Year food.
As for New Year soup, I tried to recreate what my grandmother had taught me when we were living together. It is my home style to add peeled roasted chestnut at the end.
I haven’t celebrated this important festival in Japan for 25 years. But I am still very grateful to be able to celebrate this holiday almost just as I was in Japan.
お正月といえばおせち料理。今年も食材を少し揃えて、また少し作って。
お雑煮も、昔同居していた祖母から教わった味を思い出しながら。最後にむき栗を入れるのが私の実家風。
日本でのお正月はもう25年迎えていませんが、異国の地でこうして日本のお正月を感じることができるのは嬉しいことです。
