Heritage Japanese Online Lesson 継承語オンラインレッスン

This student who takes my online private lesson has a Japanese mother and an American father.

I am teaching him Japanese as a heritage language, with a hopes of his mother that he continue to excel in Japanese speaking and his writing.

He is getting used to our class, he shares with me his proud Lego creation. 

And he loves his penguins! I switched a character in one of the songs to penguins and that got him focused so well! To be able to make a personalized touch is golden in private lessons.

We write one new vocabulary that goes along with the lesson of the day. After writing “ぺんぎん“ーpenguin in hiragana, he told me to wait. Then he showed me a drawing of a penguin, incorporating all the worlds he’s learned so far. 

How it made my day for him to remember all the vocabularies!! I can’t wait for the next lesson! 

オンラインの日本語プライベートレッスンを受けてくれている生徒さん。お母さんが日本人でお父さんがアメリカ人。

継承語としての日本語を回を重ねるごとにレッスンの進行にも慣れてきて、私に自作のレゴロボットを見せてくれます。

そしてペンギンが大好き。この日はお歌の登場人物をペンギンさんに変えたら大喜び！集中力がぐーーんとアップ。こうしてお一人お一人の好き！に応えられるのもプライベートの醍醐味ですね。

毎回ひとつ、その日のテーマに沿った単語をひらがなで書きます。この日は「ぺんぎん」とひらがなで書いた後、「ちょっと待って！」と言って、今まで習った単語を全て使ったぺんぎんさんの絵をささっと描いてくれました。全部覚えていてくれて本当に嬉しい！また次回も楽しみにしています！
