英語とフランス語の先生だけでなく通訳として世界の大舞台でご活躍してらっしゃるパワフルな聡子先生。昨年書道家の高宮華子先生のご縁で聡子先生のインスタセミナーに参加する機会があってからのお知り合い。

今回マーケティング関係で新しくお仕事をいただいたので聡子先生にもご報告したところ、「Zoomで対談しましょう！」とお声がけくださり、対談なんて初めての事で緊張しましたが、聡子先生とお話しできるのは私も嬉しくて、すぐに日程が決まりウキウキ。

とは言っても、先生と二人で面と向かってお話しするのは実は初めて。そう感じさせない今の時代のSNSのネットワークはやっぱりすごいですね。 先生と話すことでこれから自分がやっていきたいビジョンがより明確に、クリアになっていく感覚がすごかったです。メモ魔の私は手が止まらない。パッションやアイデアがが溢れる様に出てくる、出てくる。

そして終盤に差しかかってきた頃、勇気をだして恐る恐る聡子先生に相談してみた。ここ2ヶ月程胸に秘めていた一つの野望。「実は英語も教えてみたくなったんです。」と。

「海外で日本文化を教えているめぐみさんだからこそお伝えできる英語があるはず！」と、背中をどーーんと押していただきました。実際に英語とフランス語を教えてらっしゃる現役の先生からのお言葉は心に響く。語学に対する熱い思いをお互い確認し合い、聡子先生とのコラボ授業も近々叶いそうです。

夢って人に言った方が叶うスピードが早いって聞いたことがあるけれど、やっぱりそうだった。 英語でも日本語でも、みなさんの「伝えたい！」を叶えるお手伝いができるよう、これからも挑戦していきます！聡子先生ありがとうございました❤️

Satoko sensei and I got to know each other last year through a marketing seminar via Zoom, which our mutual friend Japanese calligrapher Takamiya Hanako sensei help host the event. Satoko sensei is not only a teacher of English and French but an interpreter who works for international meetings such as G20, World Cup Soccer and such.

I reached out to her to tell her that I am going to help my good friend with marketing, she invited me to have an interview session with me!! Wow!! It was the first time to be interviewed and I was nervous. The date was set right away and I looked forward to just being able to chat with her.

Although it was the first time to officially speak one on one with her, it didn’t feel that way because of social media. As she coaches me, my passion and vision became clearer and brighter. My hand was busy taking notes, trying to capture new ideas we came up with.

When the discussion was wrapping up, I couldn’t resist the urge of confessing something I had in my heart for a few months. I almost whispered, “I want to teach English, too.”

She was overjoyed and encouraged me by saying, “there are very special contents only you, who teaches Japanese culture in a foreign country, can offer.” It was reassuring to hear from a current language teacher herself.

We talked more about the language education in Japan and what we can offer together to help students in Japan. The collaboration program with Satoko sensei is underway. I am so excited.

I’ve heard before that if you have a dream, the speed of it coming true is faster when you share with people. Well, it was. I am so excited to help people’s desire to communicate to understand cultures in Japanese and in English. Stay tuned! Thank you so much Satoko sensei❤️
