June Calligraphy Class 6月の書のクラス

In our dojo, we learn art of ninja called “Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu” based on a Japanese organization in Chiba, led by The grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi. In one of the most basic kata (form) is called Sanshin no kata (form of three hearts), which consists of the movements named after five natural elements, 地 (Chi, earth)・水 (Sui, water)・火 (Ka, fire)・風 (Fū, wind)・空 (Kū, void).

My students have seen these kanji characters already, so to practice writing, I chose the assignment in June to be 大空(Oozora, vast sky), continuing the practice from May’s 大地 (Daichi, wide vast earth).

Again, through their brush work, I enjoyed seeing the big, wide sky in each of my students’ heart. Thank you for the great time!

私達の道場では日本の初見正昭宗家率いる「武神館武道体術」という団体の忍術を学んでいるのですが、「三心の型」と言う基本中の基本の型があります。この型は、自然の中の5つのエレメント、地・水・火・風・空から成り、生徒さん達にも馴染み深い漢字なので、5月の「大地」に続き6月は「大空」。初夏の大空を思い浮かべながら。

初めてとは思えない出来栄え。今回もみなさんの心の中に大きく広がる大空を字を通して拝見させていただきました。ありがとうございました！
